On V-Day and Cribs

We’re the kind of couple that’s not so much into giving gifts and having big, fancy Valentine’s Day celebrations, because everyday is Valentine’s Day (hehehe).

In the morning, I spent time playing with my baby nephews. Read “The Wheels on the Bus” to my almost 2 year old nephew and since he already knows the song, he seems to easily love the book too!

I’m a “Book Sale” junkie.  Oh, what delight it is to rummage through bargain books and what joy there is in good finds!  I was just happy to chance upon this book! Only for 50 pesos.

It’s was like any normal date night, still special though, because of my date πŸ™‚ My husband is not the type to make reservations for special date occasions, and he actually had no plans of eating out on Valentine’s Day.  If it weren’t for me, we’ll have fried bangus (milk fish), pork sisig and broccoli I cooked the other day. But at least I’d like to take a day off from cooking for V-day, so I suggested – sort of required πŸ™‚ – us to eat out. πŸ˜‹ After all, it’s our last Valentine’s day without a baby in tow πŸ™‚

He wanted ramen but I had ramen just days ago, but I don’t mind having another bowl within the week, really, if ramen is what he wants.  Good thing the ramen place we went to has a partner tempura restaurant sharing the same dining space with it, so I opted to change my ramen order to a bowl of prawn, shrimps, scallop and fish tempura with rice. πŸ˜‹

Since we were already in the mall, we thought of window shopping for baby stuff, especially for cribs, before going to the grocery πŸ™‚

I enjoyed our window shopping a lot – without any exaggeration, it was a dream come true.  Maybe only those who have struggled with infertility for some time will understand.  It has actually been my dream to shop for cribs and other baby stuff for many years now.  Whenever I used to pass by baby stores, it was a sad reminder of what we didn’t have and what we’ve always wanted.  I would think to myself, one day, I’ll be happily looking through baby stuff in those stores πŸ™‚

The 3 in 1 convertible crib we both like 😍 – can be used as a crib, toddler bed and daybed, so River and siblings can actually use it for many years!  Plus 4000 pesos more for the mattress.
Saw this exact same wall decal growth chart design at Youji and Me, for only 230 pesos! It is being sold online for 600 plus shipping fee, I think πŸ™‚ should have bought this!
I searched online for convertible cribs, and found this from Lazada:

I saw Da Vinci reviewed as one of the top convertible beds, but with a different model.
Saw from a couple of blogs that wrote about cribs this store along Shaw Boulevard – they have convertible cribs too and this!  Play tent!  Should visit one of these days.

Teepee!  Maybe we don’t need DIY, if the price is right! πŸ™‚
Hopefully, there will be good deals in the coming months when we’re ready to purchase baby furniture in my 7th-8th month πŸ™‚ at least now we have an idea of what we are looking for.  I saw convertible cribs from Pottery Barn, but I’m sure they’re much more expensive.

Post Valentine reminder, yet still applicable everyday – giving thanks to the One who loves us first, loves us most, and loves us unconditionally 😍

Happy Valentine’s Day! πŸ™‚
