19th Week on January 19: More food plus a pillow

We turned 19 weeks yesterday! Halfway through our 5th month.  Can be confusing but 18-22 weeks is considered 5 months in pregnancy.

One more week and we are halfway through our pregnancy! 20 of 40 weeks.

For the past days, I did a lot of cooking. Posting it here for some notes:

Beef dishes (used organic beef sirloin)

1.  Beef Tapa

– marinated for at least 12 hours

2.  Beef Salpicao – will try a different recipe next time πŸ™‚

Pork dishes

1. Lumpiang Shanghai – fried spring rolls

– made 25 medium sized rolls for 1 kilo of ground pork (can be cut into 2)

– added quick melt cheese, should have put more

2.  Indonesian pork spareribs

– boiled for 1.5 hours in special sauce made up of tamarind paste, ginger, soy sauce, oil, onions, chilis, and “sambal oelek” ; roasted in the oven for 20 minutes

Soup: pumkin soup- used fresh chicken stock (I’m beginning to like making chicken stock πŸ™‚ )

Discovered that it’s easier to use a weighing scale and follow the volume indicated in recipe for the onions, carrots, leeks and celery. )

That’s supposed to be foam milk with cinnamon on the soup. Should learn “foam art” next time πŸ™‚

Note: 500 grams of pumpkin: 1 box of this cream πŸ™‚

Because the cook (that’s me!) needed a break, we had dinner last Wednesday night at a vegetarian restaurant. Love the food there!

Should try to make these yummy spinach cream cheese dumplings:

… and come up with our own version of bibimbap just like how this restaurant came up with its own take on this Korean dish:

Check out the La Paz Batchoy that we had and the delightful orange ginger “cooler” (served hot πŸ™‚ )

Blogging about all these makes me hungry now! After all, I only had pumpkin soup and bread for dinner because I wasn’t so hungry yet during dinner time πŸ™‚

Last night, I had some spotting and couldn’t help but worry.  Will write a separate post about it.  Thank God everything’s ok.  As for now, good night!  Excited to use this huggable pillow for the first time πŸ™‚
