Addiction Aquatic Development, that is! 上引產水
That was where we would be having lunch, as suggested by our visitor. Great research!
But first, we headed to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall since my husband and I hadn’t been there. Next day was going to be my embryo transfer, so it was my last chance for this trip to go around the city.
A little history (copied from the sign below the sculpture): The famous sculptor Cao Chong-en creates “Root.” The artwork describes the background below: when Dr. Sun Yat-Sen studied at the elementary school, he would listen to the story told by an old veteran, “The Heavenly Kingdom of Peace (1850-1864), which resisted Ching Dynasty in the earlier age. The concept of the story stimulated Dr. Sun’s revolutionary thoughts and afterwards led to the revolutionary activities overthrowing the last monarchy and founding the Republic of China, the first democracy in Asia.
We found the lagoon where one can take a nice shot of Taipei 101.
Finally, after being satisfied with the pictures we took, we went to the hall.
From Sun Yat-Sen Memorial, we decided to take a cab going to Addiction Aquatic Development, since my sister’s flight was in the evening and we wanted to save time. We know taxi fare can be expensive in Taiwan compared to the Philippines, but we didn’t know that we would spend about 270 NTD for that ride. So that’s how much saving time cost us 🙂
It was definitely worth the trip – a different kind of experience. (Manila’s seaside market is a another experience as well.)
Aside from live seafood, it has a supermarket filled with sushi and many other interesting stuff. Wow! We were overwhelmed with the choices and were already hungry so we didn’t explore the restaurants anymore. Bought food from the grocery and realized we had to eat it outside standing up. There were tall tables outside but no chairs. But that’s ok! We enjoyed our lunch a lot 🙂 We will go to the restaurants next time.
We just had a little trouble going back to the apartment… 😀 a blog said it is 15 minutes away from the MRT Xindian Temple Station. Fifteen minutes ++ is quite a long walk moreso with the rain. We tried though…. even asked directions from the cashier at Family Mart. The kind lady even drew us a sketch. But then it started to rain again so we ended up taking a cab. The fare was a little more than 100 NTD I think. 🙂
We accompanied my sister to the bus station and she was able to catch a bus going to the airport just in time 🙂
We went to Zhongshan and tried to look for interesting spots there like the SPOT Theater. Too bad we didn’t find anything interesting to watch that time but it’s ok, we did also want to check out the place. It is a nice building that used to be the US Consulate.
There are 3 Shinkong Mitsukoshi buildings in the area. I forgot which building has the grocery. We bought some stuff from the grocery and had dinner also in the same floor.
Yes, I am indeed very happy and satisfied, not just with my dinner, but with everything at this point. When I start to worry, particularly with our treatment here, I just think of things I am grateful for.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? ” Matthew 6:25-26
Can I by worrying __<put what you want to happen here>__?
Can I by worrying increase my chances of having a baby? 😀
We all know the answer to that 🙂
